Religious Education 3 is the third course of the Theology Program. It introduces students to the basics of Catholic morality in relation to the vast moral upheavals facing the Philippines and the world at large.
The course introduces students to theological anthropology that seeks to present the fundamental subjective factors of morality as freedom and conscience, in light and reality of sin. These subjective factors are then understood in the light of the objective factors of the commandments in Sacred Scripture, and the guidance of Church teaching. Ultimately, the course hopes to guide students in their own personal discernment of moral decision making, discipleship and commitment.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Sketch a theological anthropology that presents the subjective factors of morality, in light of freedom, conscience and the reality of sin
2. Relate these subjective factors to the objective factors of morality, i.e., the Commandments as found in Sacred Scripture, and the development in moral theology in Sacred Tradition
